The Tavern & Inn Company was founded on a simple conviction: that Britain's most characterful buildings — the ones with crooked beams, worn flagstones and stories in every wall — deserve far better than neglect, or reinvention as yet another restaurant chain.
We seek out premises of genuine historical significance: coaching inns, Victorian gin palaces, forgotten tap rooms and Grade II-listed buildings hiding in plain sight. Then we do something unfashionable — we restore them, celebrate them, and fill them with well-kept cask ale, simple honest food, and the kind of warmth that made British pub culture the envy of the world.
No gimmicks. No fusion menus. No mood lighting imported from Shoreditch. Just extraordinary places, properly kept.
